About Us

about us

Born in Courage. Built in Faith. Growing in Glory.

The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Christchurch — formerly known as Courage Centre — was birthed in 1994 by Pastor Tayo Badejoko and twelve volunteer workers as a parish of RCCG Apapa Family.

RCCG Apapa Family came into being when the General Overseer of the Mission, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, mandated Pastor Tony Rapu and fifty workers from the Headquarters in Ebute Metta to commence a model parish of the Mission. The vision was to build a church of young, mobile, educated professionals and students.

The church held its first service on Sunday, 5th May 1991 at Roxy Cinema, Apapa, and subsequently moved to Freedom Hall, Surulere in 1992. From this strong foundation, several parishes were planted, including Courage Centre (now Christchurch) in 1994.
